Every talk I give is unique, based on the latest industry trends and learnings as well as the dynamics of the audience. But here are some re-occurring themes, that I cover in many of my talks:
The Digital Disrupted Consumer – how consumers make purchase decisions online and in-stores has permanently changed as a result of digital disruption. This talk looks at the fundamental changes (trust, social proof, absolute value, and transparency) and how best in class brands are responding.
Fear And Loathing In Retail – What is keeping retail executives up at night? This talk covers six major trends, that make retailers fear for their futures (Emergence of Platforms, Digital Grocery, Auto-Replenishment, Health and Wellness, Digital requirements for physical stores, and emergence of exclusive brands).
Mobile Gap – Web traffic is rapidly transitioning from desktop to mobile devices. Yet, conversion rates and spending levels on mobile devices is much lower than it was on desktop. This talk explores the reasons for the mobile gap, and the best practices to minimize it.
Brands Vs. Retailers – Retailers, Brands, and Digitally Natives Direct to Consumers brands are currently locked in an epic battle. Former partners have become frenemies. This talk explores the nature of the new channel conflicts, and suggests some best approaches for each group to win.
What The West Can Learn From China – In many ways, the Chinese consumer has frogged the western consumer in terms of digital shopping behaviors and expectations. This talk explored the emerging commerce trends in China, with an eye towards tactics that may be applicable to western consumers.
Innovation For Digital Disruption – How do the best brands and retailers, disrupt themselves rather than getting disrupted by the market? How can well established business overcome institutional inertia, and become more agile? What are Amazon’s secrets to innovation within a large enterprise?
