Jason gave a recap of his visit to CES. Key trends at the show:

Here is a complete CES recap from Jason and his Razorfish colleagues. Jason also gave an overview of the small E-Commerce section of the floor that included a MasterPass booth, Alibaba booth, and Digital River.
Panasonic had some useful technologies with Retail applications including its Light ID system which could replace QR Codes with a faster, easier solution, and a high speed projection mapping system.
Samsung had a smart refrigerator which was integrated FreshDirect grocery service to deliver groceries ordered from the refrigerator. Ironically, the refrigerator used the MasterPass Digital Wallet, while Samsung was demoing their own SamsungPay digital wallet elsewhere in the booth. Samsung was also demonstrating its SmartSuit, with integrated RFID tags.
Amazon invested in a french delivery company, and is setting up delivery depots on college campuses including UPenn. Jason shared an Ohio State study that concluded that Amazon sales are being impacted when they have to collect sales tax.
In other news, Google says that Drone delivery is just a few years away. L2 hosted a briefing around their prediction that pure-play e-commerce sites will not survive. Jason didn’t agree with the prediction, #RIPPurePlay.
